Click Here to Enlarge Washington, DC, January 28, 2008 — Ordia Solutions, the leading provider of mission-critical tactical collaboration systems for public safety agencies announces the successful deployment of its next generation command and control platform Mobile Tactical Collaboration System™ (MTCS) and advanced personnel tracking solution AdvanTraq™ GPS during President Bush’s final State of the Union Address at the US Capitol.
The 2008 State of the Union address was attended by a large number of US and foreign government dignitaries who needed to be transported in a safe and secure manner from across the District to the US Capitol. DC Metropolitan Police Department’s responsibility included securing critical infrastructures and routes of ingress to and egress from the Capitol. MPD activated its Joint Operations Command Center (JOCC) in support of the multi-jurisdictional and multidisciplinary taskforce which included representatives from various security agencies within the federal departments of Homeland Security, Justice, Defense, and State, as well as DC Emergency Management Agency.
MPD commanders, alongside special agents from other agencies, gained
real-time command and control situational awareness of the security
teams across the city using MTCS integrated with AdvanTraq™ GPS.
Members of MPD Senior Staff who were mobile, had uninterrupted
visibility of the entire operation as they were logged on the
operation’s MTCS workspace using a one-pound OQO Model 02, the world’s
smallest full-featured ultra-mobile handheld PC.
“Our commanders were able to share multiple operating pictures in
real-time between the JOC, DC Emergency Management Agency, MPD Forward
Command Post, and members of the Command Staff”, said Captain Jeffrey
Herold, SWAT Coordinator for MPD.
“Agencies like MPD have the formidable task of ensuring the security
and safety of our leaders, citizens, and critical infrastructures
during planned and unplanned events”, said Joe E Ordia, Chairman and
CEO, Ordia Solutions. “We are pleased MPD and the other jurisdictions
were able to leverage the force-multiplier advantage that the MTCS
platform delivers to team members on the front line as well as members
of their chain of command. The MTCS platform gave the MPD security
taskforce an unprecedented level of operational situational awareness
and command & control.”
