VIENNA, Va. & VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ordia Solutions, the leading provider of mission-critical tactical collaboration systems for public safety leaders, first responders, and tactical operators announced the availability of the RIM BlackBerry as the newest client platform for its next generation collaborative command and control solution Mobile Tactical Collaboration System™ (MTCS) and AdvanTraq™ GPS. This development marks a major milestone in the company’s quest to extend its mission-critical, collaborative command and control solution directly to the hand of first responders, tactical operators, and senior leadership.

MTCS running on a phone device had its first public demonstration during CEO Joe Ordia’s address to the Major Cities Chiefs Association’s 2008 Winter Meeting in Vancouver on February 5th. Acting as an incident commander in a fictitious all-hazards scenario, Ordia demonstrated, using mobile computers wirelessly connected via air cards, the collaborative command and control, common operating picture, and real-time situational awareness capabilities of MTCS. As he concluded the demonstration, Ordia pulled a BlackBerry® 8830 World Edition Smartphone from his jacket pocket that was already logged on the MTCS workspace, and passed it to the Chiefs while he continued to update the scenario and displaying these updates on the mobile computers as well as on the Smartphone.

“Supporting the Smartphone platform effectively extends the command & control situational awareness capabilities to the farthest reaches up and down the chain of command, enabling officers, commanders, and chiefs to have access to real-time Command Post information anywhere anytime,” said Joe Ordia, Chairman and CEO, Ordia Solutions. “MTCS has played a force-multiplier role in several high-profile deployments with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and fire/EMS departments. We have received numerous requests from our customers for this platform and we were thrilled with the positive reception from a number of the Major Cities Chiefs and their senior staff.”

First customer shipment of MTCS with BlackBerry support is expected in March 2008. For more information on Ordia Solutions, please visit www.ordiasolutions.com , e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , or call (703) 752-6252.

About Mobile Tactical Collaboration System™ (MTCS) & AdvanTraq™ GPS

Developed using industry standard Web 2.0-based technologies, MTCS is the flagship product of Ordia Solutions and represents the next generation of mission-critical, tactically-focused, easy-to-use, intuitive, and web-based collaborative command and control solutions for public safety. Because a picture is worth a thousand words, MTCS enhances public safety officers’ ability to communicate and collaborate visually and in real-time using tactical graphics, digital maps, and shared workspaces. It facilitates the rapid sketching and development of multiple pre-planned scenarios, one or more of which can be executed based on real-time contingencies and at the discretion of commanders and other senior leadership. The MTCS platform addresses the "5Cs of Interoperability" for tactical commanders, operators and other first responders - communication, collaboration, coordination, command and control. This level of interoperability is a must for critical incidents requiring multi-jurisdictional and multidisciplinary response, and for the related real-world exercises necessary to sharpen the tactical proficiencies of commanders and operators. As a network-based application, MTCS provides access to authorized, geographically dispersed team members to interact and collaborate in the same “virtual” command post, using mobile data terminals or ultra mobile handheld PCs connected via secure wireless broadband, or other PCs connected to the secure network.  Microsoft® Virtual Earth™ is the standard mapping imagery delivered with MTCS and customer-specific imagery can be incorporated.

AdvanTraq™ GPS is a portfolio of advanced tracking solutions for personnel, vehicle, K9, and cargo that operates as standalone solutions or integrated with and traceable through a Mobile Tactical Collaboration System™ workspace.  Integrated, AdvanTraq GPS and MTCS provide tactical commanders and other senior leadership an unprecedented level of real-time situational awareness of an executing operation and its operators, significantly increasing operator safety and accountability. AdvanTraq GPS employs GPS tracking technologies from GLC Enterprises of Naperville IL.  The versatility of the MTCS platform enables it to be used by law enforcement, Fire/EMS, Search and Rescue, and EOC personnel in a variety of command and control scenarios. These include perimeter and border security; port and coastal security; critical infrastructure protection; dignitary transport and protection; timely, coordinated, and effective tactical response to campus security incidents; SWAT operations; major sporting event security coordination; man-made or environmental disaster security response; multi-alarm and wildland fire suppression coordination; real-world preparedness training and exercises; post-incident analysis; and many other more routine public safety activities.
